General

Search for a haplogroup to see a map of its frequency across populations. Only YFull haplogroups are recognized: because the ISOGG and YFull trees differ, we are unable to support both.

Searching

Type the name of a haplogroup or SNP to search; queries are not case-sensitive. The percentage shown for each region is the proportion of samples typed as derived for the haplogroup — that is, the number of derived samples divided by all samples typed as either derived or ancestral.

You can refine a search with the star (*) notation to find samples that are derived for the primary haplogroup but ancestral for one or more subclades. For example, A1b*(xD,E) returns all samples that are derived for A1b but ancestral for both D and E.

Interpolation

Interpolation estimates frequencies for countries and regions that have no data of their own. A region is eligible only if at least three neighbouring regions have a known frequency within 1,000 kilometers. The estimate is then a weighted average of those neighbours, giving more influence to the closer ones.
